I know all the sneaky ways we stay feeling stuck in our job and let fear and obligation take over our choices.
For the longest time I kept beating myself up for wanting more.
I should be grateful for all that I have.
I should be satisfied at my job.
I should feel fulfilled.
I kept asking myself why can’t you just be happy like the rest of them?
But it turns out, wanting more doesn’t make me an ungrateful or bad employee.
I’M SIMPLY A WOMAN WITH AN APPETITE FOR MORE IN THIS LIFE.

The biggest lesson I learned in stepping away from my job is that it wasn’t the support from others that I needed, but rather to have my own back. I learned this lesson in a tough-love way.
One Sunday night when I was repeating the same ol’ cycle of being too afraid to step out on my own, I’ll never forget what my husband told me:
“This is the last time we are talking about this. You either leave your job and go all in on your business, or we aren’t having another conversation about this.”
That’s when it became so clear — if I don’t have my own back and support myself in making my own exit plan, I will never leave. Ever.
Turns out he wasn’t just being nice. He believed in me and wanted me to do what fulfilled me.
It became my mission to learn how to create that for myself

I get it. Having a bi-weekly or monthly paycheck is nice. In Exit Plan, we aren’t saying that you step away completely from your job if that’s not the right move for you. Rather, it helps you create a plan. You’ll assess where you are now, and where you want to be, so you can strategically determine how you can safely get there.
And, we also get to question our definitions of words like stable, security, safety, etc. In doing this, you get to understand how resourceful you really are, and you can perhaps see your paycheck is actually limiting what you really desire in this life. -
I suppose you could if you really wanted to, but you don’t have to. Remember, a keyword of this program is plan. We will create a plan that feels good and sufficient for you. Maybe you’ll leave your job in two weeks from now, 6 months or a year. Maybe instead of walking away completely, you cut down to three or four days a week of work. You get to decide when and how you want to leave, and this work helps you do so in a way that feels less like a big leap of faith, and more like the inevitable right next step.

risk-free… it doesn’t mean you’re leaving today.
You’re simply giving yourself space to consider what life would look like if you left. And, it will make it a lot easier when you are ready to exit.
If you’re scared to dive in because you’re scared to leave, I totally get you.
But I want to reassure you, this is 100% up to you and no one else. Making a plan doesn’t mean you walk away immediately, but rather you allow yourself to bring back your power of choice, energy and cultivate a plan to bring your dreams into reality.
Plus, it will make it a hell of a lot easier when you are ready to leave.
